Biology students learnt about genetic engineering hands-on this week. They used ‘pGLO plasmid’ to transform bacteria in a petri dish to express green fluorescent protein from the bioluminescent jellyfish ‘Aequorea victoria’, which causes the bacteria to glow green under UV light.

Congratulations to our Duke of Edinburgh Award students. 15 learners have achieved the Bronze Award following an expedition from the College to Berkswell, while three of them also attained the Silver Award after completing an expedition in the Malvern Hills.
