Christmas Concert Brings Festive Cheer
Christmas Concert Brings Festive Cheer
Musicians at Solihull Sixth Form College ensured the Autumn Term ended on a high when they performed at the annual Christmas Concert this week.
As well as learners studying A level Music, there was also a focus on enrichment students to show off their musical talents. Students who do not take A level Music, come together once a week to perform and give an outlet to their creativity. Among the Christmas songs they performed were 'Merry Christmas Everybody' by Slade and ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham. Away from the Christmas theme, there were also performances of songs by bands like Black Sabbath, Amy Winehouse, White Stripes and Nirvana.
Catherine Douglas, Music teacher at the College, commented:
"I’m so pleased we were able to give our young people on the Music enrichment an opportunity to perform in front of an audience. They have worked hard on their music all term and had a lot of fun at the same time, so it was good to showcase their talents and get everyone in the mood for Christmas."
