Pastoral Support

Dyslexia, Disability and Individual Needs

The College is committed to ensuring that students with Specific Learning Difficulties, disabilities or other additional needs, including those in care and who are young carers themselves, are treated fairly and all reasonable adjustments to provision are made to allow them to reach their full potential. Our Additional Learning Team offers flexible support tailored to the individual student’s particular needs and is managed by our SEN Co-ordinator Caroline Sweeney (caroline.sweeney@solihullsfc.ac.uk).

Mental Health & Wellbeing

At Solihull Sixth Form College, we aim to create a positive environment where students feel safe to talk about their mental health and wellbeing. This is led by our Mental Health Lead Bobbie Pidgeon.

Counselling

The College offers a confidential counselling service. Students wishing to access this service are asked to email to be added to the list. Those making such a request will be offered an assessment appointment as soon as possible.

Young Adult Carers

the College has a dedicated member of staff to support Young Adult Carers, who are those who helps support someone in their family, or household who is disabled, mentally or physically ill, has a long term serious illness or has a substance misuse problem. Click the link to learn more.

Student Development Office

The College has a Student Development Office, consisting of permanent staff and a student intern who supports students social activities and wellbeing. They support the work of the Student Council, student societies, the Student Health Ambassador Scheme and student events. the latter can include fundraising events and awareness campaigns.
